The state budget battle over transportation funding lasted for months, and new projections show there will be minimal increases in revenue from the gas tax and vehicle registration fees.
Those are the two main sources of money for road projects.
Todd Berry of the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance says revenues from both will rise by less than one percent this year.
The state will collect nearly $1.7 billion from the two sources. Some lawmakers and groups floated the idea of an increase in the gas tax or vehicle registration fee, but that went nowhere.
