The day after the Fox Cities Exhibition Center opened, Appleton leaders will start focusing on another big project in the downtown.
Five developers submitted proposals for including a new library in a mixed-use development. The library board and city council issued what’s called a “request for proposals” last November, seeking detailed plans.
City spokesman Chad Doran says they’re looking forward to seeing the different options. He says city staffers will review them, and narrow them down to what they think will be the best fit.
Doran says it will be exciting to see how a library could fit into a mixed-use project, and the potential for more development in the downtown.
