Lawrence University students and alumni played major roles, literally, in the creation of the new feature film, Bucky & The Squirrels. They starred on-screen, assisted with production, and helped finance the “rockumentary,” which was shot on Lawrence campus and throughout downtown Appleton.
Director of the film, Alan Katz, got started writing ad copy for Screaming Yellow Zonkers, and later wrote on All in the Family, Sanford and Son, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, MASH, and many other television classics.
On Fresh Take Alan talked about his career and the making of the film. He was joined by Lawrence alumna Jill Lover, one of the stars of the film, and Lawrence President Mark Burstein, who explained how a project like this helps Lawrence students prepare for what comes after college.
