A local museum is asking people to share their stories and memories today to highlight what sets them apart.
The History Museum at the Castle is one of 29 finalists for the National Medal for Museum and Library Service. Curator Emily Rock says it’s the most prestigious award for museums in the country. She says each finalist will be featured on the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ social media. She says people should share stories about why they think the museum is great and what it’s done for the community.
Rock says people can share their stories on Facebook or Twitter using the hashtags #IMLSMedals and #shareyourstory.
The National Railroad Museum in Ashwaubenon is also a finalist. They’ll be featured on April 10th.
