A golf tournament kicks off today in Oneida, and it’s expected to draw over 60,000 people.
The LPGA Thornberry Creek Classic is at Thornberry Creek Golf Course.
Tournament Director Jon-Paul Genet says the event had an economic impact of about $7.2 million last year. He says there are over 140 golfers in the field, and they have bigger names in the second year of the event.
The first round of the tournament is today and the final one is Sunday. The golfers started practicing on Tuesday.
