A judge is ordering a trial for a Little Chute high school teacher accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
Forty-five-year-old Jason LaVigne is facing a felony charge of third-degree sexual assault in Marinette County, and he was in court this morning for a preliminary hearing.
Prosecutors say the 16-year-old girl went to the Crivitz area with LaVigne’s family early last month. They say they were boating, and LaVigne gave her several vodka lemonade drinks. They say he assaulted her, after stopping at a beach area.
The girl wasn’t a Little Chute student.
LaVigne is scheduled to return to court in Marinette County in September.
Prosecutors in Outagamie County also charged him with repeatedly sexually assaulting a Little Chute student in 1999. They say the girl was a 14-year-old freshman then, and she reached out to a counselor in 2009.
He’s accused of rubbing up against her, and asking her to have sexual contact with him. The district investigated and released a statement, saying it wasn’t able to substantiate any evidence of wrongdoing at that time.
