A new non-stop flight helped Appleton International Airport break its all-time record for passengers in a month.
More than 63,000 people flew in or out of the airport in June. That’s almost nine percent more than the previous mark, set in March.
Spokesman Patrick Tracey says the new United Airlines flight to Denver kicked off in June, and so far the flights have been at least 90 percent full.
American Airlines started flying out of Appleton in July of last year, and Tracey says their numbers are up too. He says they started with two flights a day with 50-seat planes. He says they added a third, and they’re using 75-seat planes.
The total for June of last year, before American Airlines started flying out of Appleton, was 46,000 passengers.
