With flooding still a concern in Madison, the city’s leader says the potential for more rain in the surrounding area could have an impact on water levels.
Mayor Paul Soglin says they have to pay attention to the entire watershed, especially to the north and west. He says rainwater from elsewhere might have to pass through the lakes in Madison.
More rain is in the forecast for today and tomorrow.
Areas on the city’s near East Side are having the biggest issues with flooding right now. The city is notifying about 1,000 more homeowners that they might have to deal with flooding.
People are still filling sandbags, in hopes of protecting their homes.
