Firefighters in Wrightstown have some new equipment thanks to a surprise grant from the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation.
Company spokesman Matt Cullen says crews got to the station yesterday thinking they were going to host a community-wide informational tour. He says to surprise the department, they gave them their grant fund. He says that allowed them get a new cutting tool for their jaws of life and auto extraction equipment.
The department applied for funding for the equipment. Cullen says it’s the second year the foundation is handing out surprise grants.
Ashwaubenon Public Safety was last year’s recipient.
