Investigators say a fire at an apartment building in Menasha yesterday was started by a child playing with a cigarette lighter.
It happened in the 100 block of 1st Street. An unconscious 18-month-old was rescued by responders, given CPR, and taken to the Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. The child’s condition is unknown.
The five-unit apartment building is considered uninhabitable at this time.
