The mosquitos have been horrible over the last several days, and an expert says it will take cold weather to get rid of them.
Asst. Professor Robert Mitchell is an entomologist at UW-Oshkosh. He says the female mosquitos are biting to get more blood so they can hatch more eggs. That cycle could continue, until the temperature changes.
Mitchell says besides making people itch, the insects can spread diseases.
He says mosquito larvae grows in water, so people should make sure they don’t have standing water around their house.
