A judge is ordering a competency exam for a Shawano woman accused of planning to bury her dead two-month-old child, and not tell police.
Twenty-two-year-old Catherine Barker was in Shawano County Court yesterday. She’s facing several charges, including child neglect and failing to report the death of a child.
Court records say Barker messaged two people about her plans to bury the boy in the country. They say she worried about calling police, because she had warrants for her arrest.
Prosecutors say investigators found Internet searches on her phone for “how to revive a dead child.” They say Barker claimed she didn’t make those searches.
Barker’s bond was set at $100,000.
