A group that brings veterans to Washington D.C. to visit war memorials is having its first flight out of the Green Bay area this week.
The Old Glory Honor Flight leaves from the Austin Straubel International Airport on Thursday.
Brown County Supervisor Bernie Erickson says 75 people are going on the trip. He says they hope to have a large crowd on Thursday night to welcome the veterans. He expects the flight to return around 8:30 p.m. and there’s free parking at the airport for the event.
Erickson says they want to make the flight an annual tradition.
Appleton International Airport has hosted honor flights…since 2009.
