There’s a race for an Assembly seat that covers parts of the Green Bay area.
Republican Rep. David Steffen of Howard is facing Democrat Terry Lee of Green Bay in the 4th District.
Steffen is running for his third term. He says he plans to keep working on the redevelopment of the current Green Bay prison site. He hopes to build a new prison in a different location.
Steffen says he also wants to move coal from about a 40-acre site in downtown Green Bay to another spot to spur development.
Lee is a former news reporter, and he says education funding would be a top priority. He says parents are faced with more fees, and he’s blaming the state for those increases.
Lee says he would also focus on health care costs. He says rising premiums are costing workers increases in their wages.
The election is next Tuesday.
