The leader of the Green Bay police department says he doesn’t believe the two shootings that happened in the past four days are related.
Chief Andrew Smith says the 23-year-old man shot early this morning is in serious condition. He says the victim and suspect knew each other. He says there were 16 shootings incidents over the summer. He says many of those are times people shot at houses or cars. He says there were only four incidents of people being shot.
Smith says the shooting that happened Thursday is related to the summer shooting incidents. He says police reached out to community activists and counselors to try to resolve the issues between the people.
Smith says he thought the problems were taken care of but will now reach out to those involved to prevent the problem from escalating.
