A member of a non-partisan advocacy group says a lawsuit is in the works against the lame-duck legislation passed by the state.
Governor Walker signed some of the bills in Green Bay last Friday. One of them limits early voting to two weeks before an election.
Scot Ross is with One Wisconsin Now. He says they’ve seen similar cases. He says a federal judge found similar rules unconstitutional in 2016.
Critics of the lame duck legislation say the bills also limit the powers of Governor-elect Tony Evers and attorney general Josh Kaul. Senate Majority Leader Roger Roth says that’s not true. He says they simply added some common sense oversight measures.
