Governor-elect Tony Evers says people in the state expect his administration and the Republican-controlled legislature to work together on the new budget.
Evers says he wants to reach a good place for the people of Wisconsin, and he’s sure Senate Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald have that same goal.
Evers says once the budget is set they’ll encourage people across the state to give them more input. He says he also wants to encourage more people to be a part of the budget process.
Evers has to put together a two-year budget by February. He takes office on January 7th.
