A Fond du Lac fire official is crediting a Good Samaritan for saving two kids who fell through the ice yesterday around 9 a.m.
Lieutenant Curt Smits says the children were trapped under freezing water after falling through the ice of a pond around 14th Street and Martin Road.
The person had the kids out of the water by the time the fire rescue team got there.
Smits says the kids are safe and didn’t have to go to a hospital.
He says had the person not been in the area, the outcome could have been much different.
