There’s a big push in Oshkosh to redevelop the Sawdust District, south of the Fox River, and the city’s leader wants to build “up.”
Mayor Steve Cummings was a guest on the Good Neighbor Show on WHBY. He says he keeps lobbying for taller buildings, because people would pay a premium for views. He says people could have tremendous views of the Fox River and Lake Winnebago.
He’s eyeing mixed-use projects, with shops, restaurants and office space on the lower floors, and residential on the upper ones.
The district got its anchor last year, with the opening of the Menominee Nation Arena.
