Seven months after taking over a horse therapy agency in the Shiocton area, a spokesman for Rawhide says they’re happy with how things are going.
CHAPS Academy closed earlier this year because of financial challenges.
Aaron Geitner says they have two therapists, and three or four horses, to help young girls and women between 14 and 24. He says they provide outpatient counseling.
Geitner says they’re hoping to expand, to become an intensive outpatient facility. That would be similar to a day-treatment center.
Rawhide is also taking over Free Spirit Riders, another therapy horse operation, in Fond du Lac.
