Green Bay set a record today for the most precipitation in a year and Appleton and Oshkosh are close to their top totals.
The amount of rain and snow in Appleton and Oshkosh is over 41 inches so far. That ranks second on their all-time lists. They’re both about two inches short of their record. Appleton’s was set in 2010 and Oshkosh’s goes back to 1938. Green Bay’s total of over 38 inches topped the old mark from 1985.
Meteorologist Brad Spakowitz is with StormCenter Two. He says Appleton and Oshkosh have had more precipitation than Green Bay, but they aren’t at the record yet. He says with just a handful of days left in the year it’s doubtful they’ll break the records.
Spakowitz says right now all three communities are well below the average for snowfall this fall and winter.
