The state and Kimberly-Clark were able to work out a deal to keep a plant in Fox Crossing from shutting down.
The months of uncertainty over the future of the facility was one of the top local stories of 2018.
Governor Walker announced the agreement earlier this month. He says it’s a multi-year deal that puts $28 million on the table. He says it’s about keeping good-paying jobs in the state.
Kimberly-Clark will need to have about 390 workers at the plant through 20 23. The company will also invest up to $200 million at the facility and make sure supply companies get at least $50 million in business.
The deal came after lawmakers refused to support a package that offered the same type of incentives that Foxconn received.
