The mother of a four-year-old Appleton boy is warning parents about magnets in toys after her son ended up in a hospital.
Jennifer White says her son, Beck, broke open a toy and he swallowed 13 magnets. She says they tried to get to each other through his intestines, and it created holes in the lining.
White says Beck had to have part of his colon and intestines removed. She says he’s expected to recover, but he’ll be in a hospital for a few more days.
The American Academy of Pediatrics says people with kids shouldn’t have any high-powered magnets in their homes.
