Majority Republicans in the Legislature have been divided over transportation funding in the state and Governor-elect Tony Evers thinks he can bridge the gap.
Evers says including viewpoints from outside of the Legislature will help them come to a conclusion. He says he hopes they can create a plan that most people can agree with and one that can be a part of the state budget.
Evers says he’s not putting his thumb down on any solution yet. But he says he’s looking forward to people coming together and finding something that works best.
The debate over transportation funding delayed the current budget by several months.
The inauguration for Evers is on Monday. WHBY will have live coverage of the ceremony starting at 11:00 a.m. on Monday morning.
