Menasha High School is getting some recognition.
The National Athletic Trainers’ Association is naming the school one of its Safe Sport Schools. It’s the only school in the area to receive the honor.
Anna Linstedt is a licensed athletic trainer for ThedaCare, and she’s been with the high school for 11 years. She says they had to prove they were proficient in a number of areas. They include having procedures for emergencies, like heat or cardiac problems.
Linstedt says their overall goal is to keep students safe. She says the group also looked at whether there are proper facilities and equipment for all athletes.
She says it was the first time they applied for the award.
