Some Republican lawmakers want to make sure the most dangerous sex offenders go back to their home counties.
Sen. Dan Feyen of Fond du Lac and Rep. Michael Schraa of Oshkosh are working on a bill.
Feyen says a number of judges are misinterpreting a law dealing with sexually violent people without a finalized plan for their release. He says some placing them outside of their home county and that’s putting a bigger burden on rural communities.
