Poor ice conditions could keep an annual fundraiser from happening this year.
The “Walk Across Lake Winnebago” is scheduled for February 2nd. Organizer Stacy Frakes says they’re hoping more ice builds up. She says a person can walk on five or six inches of ice, but with vehicles and a large number of people, they want more to be safe.
The “Walk Across Lake Winnebago” has been canceled twice in the past because of ice conditions. Frakes says even if the walk doesn’t happen they’ll still have live music and food. Proceeds go to the Neenah Police Department’s K9 unit and Neenah-Menasha Water Rescue.
There’s more information about the walk on the event’s Facebook page.
