An apartment building fire in Hobart this morning led to the evacuation of at least 20 people, and the Red Cross is helping some of them.
Disaster program manager Nick Cluppert says about half of the people living in the 16 apartments will probably be able to go home today. He says there’s more damage to eight of the apartments, and they’ll be helping families in at least three of them.
The apartment building is in the 800 block of Centennial Centre Boulevard, off Highway 29. Firefighters were called there around 6 a.m.
