Shopko is filing for bankruptcy, and the Neenah store is one of 38 locations that are closing around the country.
The Ashwaubenon-based retailer is also shutting down its S. Military Avenue location in Green Bay, and its store in Manitowoc.
The Shopko Express on Appleton’s northeast side will also close.
The closings of stores in Menasha and Seymour were already announced, along with the Shopko Express on E. College Avenue in Buchanan.
More than 20 optical centers will be moving to freestanding locations, and Shopko will be auctioning off its pharmacy business.
CEO Russ Steinhorst says they had to make some tough choices, but they’re confident they can be successful with a smaller, and more focused footprint.
