A federal judge is striking down early-voting restrictions that Majority Republicans put in place, during last month’s lame-duck session.
Judge James Peterson ruled that they violate injunctions he issued in 2016, in a lawsuit over similar early-voting limits.
Republicans passed a law in December that limits early voting to two weeks before an election.
Pending an appeal, the ruling means early voting will be allowed 47 days before a federal election, and 21 days before a state election.
