Technology is helping 911 dispatchers send the rescue crews from the correct department to emergencies on the ice of Lake Winnebago.
But Winnebago County Sheriff John Matz says regardless of where something happens on the lake, they want to get there as quickly as possible. He says if the incident is in another department’s jurisdiction, they’ll sort that out later.
The Sheriff’s departments from Winnebago, Fond du Lac, and Calumet counties all cover a certain part of the lake, along with some police departments.
Matz was a guest on Fresh Take with Josh Dukelow on WHBY.
