A state agency is reminding people to check their heating vents outside of their house, after Monday’s snowstorm.
Andrew Beckett of Wisconsin Emergency Management says if those vents are blocked by drifts, carbon monoxide can build up inside the home. He says they should also clear any snow from their gas meters.
Beckett is reminding people that fire hydrants also need to be shoveled out. He says there should be three feet of room around them.
