A deep freeze is settling in today, and it’s expected to be something that northeast Wisconsin hasn’t seen in at least five years.
A polar vortex settled in Wisconsin, in January of 2014, bringing sub-zero temps in five out of six days.
Meteorologist Jeff Last is with the National Weather Service office in Green Bay. He says temperatures over the next few days could reach between 15- and 25-below.
In 2014, Last says air temperatures dipped to 15- to 20-below. He says while it’s not unprecedented to have frigid stretches like that, it’s unusual.
Temperatures aren’t expected to rise above zero until Friday.
