One of the coldest places to be right now might be an airport runway.
That’s where workers loading and unloading planes face both sub zero temperatures and the wicked bite of the wind.
Abe Weber is director of Appleton International Airport.
He thinks it’s not always enough to wear extra clothing.
He says they set up a bus as a portable warming shelter. Weber says it’s a place where workers can get some hot chocolate and warm up before heading back out.
The cold weather is also expected to impact flights coming in and out of the airport with cancellations and delays.
