The bitter cold is presenting some challenges for farmers in northeast Wisconsin.
Adam McCarthy is a dairy farmer in the Appleton area. He made sure he was prepared before the low temperatures moved in. He says they double-fed their cows Tuesday night so they wouldn’t have to try to start tractors in the cold.
McCarthy says they continuously check equipment to make sure it doesn’t break down. He says farmers basically play defense during cold weather.
McCarthy was a guest on Focus Fox Valley on WHBY yesterday afternoon.
