Open enrollment for schools started today, and an Appleton-based virtual school is adding 4-K in the fall.
Wisconsin Connections Academy Principal Michelle Mueller believes it’s important to limit the amount of screen time, so they’ll focus more on play-based activities. She says they want to teach children some emotional and social behaviors, and they’re excited they get to start that a year earlier.
Teachers will travel from time-to-time to spend time with the children. Mueller says they meet with students in person, through second grade.
Wisconsin Connections Academy is a charter school for the Appleton school district. It’s based in the Morgan Building in the downtown.
