A police officer in Milwaukee died, after he was shot this morning.
The officer was reportedly helping with a search warrant on the city’s south side, around 9 a.m.
Milwaukee Ald. Bob Donovan says it’s the city’s third officer to die in the line of duty in the past seven months. He says it’s been an incredibly difficult year, and it’s an indication of how challenging the work is.
Donovan adds that the community needs to rally behind officers, to ensure they have the support they deserve.
Police arrested a suspect in the shooting.
