Leaving snow on sidewalks can cause problems for people with disabilities.
Stephani Birmingham of Green Bay uses a wheelchair. She says it’s gives her access to businesses, and it’s about safety. Birmingham says she’s sometimes forced to use the road and that can be dangerous with cars going by.
Green Bay leaders expect people to have their sidewalks cleared within 24 hours of getting snow. Officials say if they don’t the city can choose to clear it for them and charge a fee. They can also get a $500 fine.
