The federal funding bill that’s meant to stop another government shutdown is getting mixed reviews from Wisconsin lawmakers.
Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson of Oshkosh called Washington D.C. lawmakers dysfunctional, but he voted for the proposal. Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Madison also voted for it, along with Democratic Congressman Ron Kind of La Crosse.
Republican Congressmen Mike Gallagher of Green Bay and Glenn Grothman of Glenbulah voted against it. Grothman called it a surrender, not a compromise.
