Governor Evers plans to include legalizing medical marijuana in his upcoming state budget.
That’s according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The proposal would include treatments for conditions like cancer, chronic pain, and PTSD.
The measure would also let people convicted of having small amounts of marijuana have their records expunged.
Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says he opposes medical marijuana and doesn’t think a law could pass the chamber.
Evers will release his budget on February 28th.
