Investigators say the victim of a murder-suicide in Suamico was in a custody battle with the father of her 14-month-old son.
Thirty-four-year-old Brooke Fontaine was shot and killed at her parent’s house, on Mystic Hills Terrace, just after 2:15 a.m. today.
Capt. David Poteat of the Brown County Sheriff’s department says 28-year-old Sebastian Royal of Milwaukee then turned the gun on himself, in the driveway.
Poteat says when Royal got to the house, he started shooting into the bedroom of Fontaine’s other four-year-old child. He says Fontaine’s mother covered the child. Poteat says Fontaine then went up to the window, and she was yelling at Royal to stop when he shot her.
Before going to the house, Royal posted an apology and explanation to his son on Facebook Live. Poteat says Royal claimed he was going to “do what was fair.”
