It was a tough month for home sales in January.
The Wisconsin Realtors Association is reporting a nearly nine percent drop in closings statewide compared to the same month last year.
Economist David Clark says they set a record for January sales in 2018. In the northeast region sales were down almost eight percent.
Clark believes the tight inventory led to a three-and-a-half percent increase in the median price to $175-thousand. In the northeast region sales slipped by almost eight percent. The median price rose one-point-six percent to just over $150,000.
