About 50 girls from the Boys and Girls Brigade in Neenah got a chance to learn about engineering last night.
They toured the micro-grid energy system at Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve in Grand Chute.
Faith Technologies built it and company spokeswoman Renee Torzala says the project’s lead engineer is a woman. She says Caramy Biederman is a great role model for the girls, and shows them engineering is a career they can choose and thrive in.
Torzala says nationally about 13 percent of engineers are women. That’s up from around five percent in the 1980’s.
