A local law enforcement agency is getting some state funding to help with bigger drug cases.
The Lake Winnebago Area MEG Unit covers Winnebago, Outagamie, Calumet, and Fond du Lac counties.
Attorney General Josh Kaul was in Appleton today. He says the funding will help law enforcement do intensive, long-term investigations that can take down a drug trafficking network or supply chain.
The money can cover things like surveillance, equipment, and undercover drug buys.
Nearly 50 counties in Wisconsin are splitting one million dollars in grants. State lawmakers approved the funding last year.
