An online fundraiser to help nonprofits in the Green Bay area is underway.
Give BIG Green Bay runs through noon tomorrow.
Greater Green Bay Community Foundation President Dennis Buehler says last year was the first time they hosted the 24-hour event, and they raised $800,000. That money helped build a Habitat for Humanity home, and allowed an animal shelter to increase adoption rates.
This year, Buehler says several local companies are providing matching grants to help the money go farther.
The website for the event includes information on the 40 participating nonprofits. Buehler hopes that will help connect people with agencies they’re passionate about, and will lead them to volunteer.
