The Appleton school district will extend school days to make up for the recent snow days.
The changes start on March 4th.
High school students will have an extra 10 minutes at the start and end of the day, for a total of 20 more minutes of class time. Elementary schools will add six more minutes to the end of each day.
No changes are necessary at the middle schools.
District Chief Financial Officer Greg Hartjes says they didn’t want to eliminate any scheduled days off because of the impact it could have on the plans of some families.
The board also put together contingency plans, if the start of school would need to be delayed by two hours because of weather, or there’s another snow day in the future.
