A Menasha police officer wants to let people know where weather-related crashes are happening and he created a map that does just that. Officer Nick Oleszak calls it the Winnebago Wreck-o-Meter.
He started keeping track yesterday morning because two minutes after he saw the first flakes he heard about the first crash.
The map showed 34 crashes between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m.
He hopes this is a visual reminder of how serious winter driving warnings are.
Oleszak posted the map on the department’s Facebook page.
