Thousands of people will be out on Lake Winnebago and the upriver lakes for the winter Battle on Bago.
The ice fishing tournament starts this morning and it lasts until 2 p.m. Saturday.
Organizer Noah Hinrichs says there are several types of fish that people can register, but many are trying to catch walleye.
The event kicked off at Menominee Park in Oshkosh last night, with a party featuring live music.
Hinrichs says they donate the proceeds to local groups, and many of them support kids or conservation.
You can hear more from Hinrichs on Focus Fox Valley on WHBY this afternoon.
