Sheriff’s deputies are working to connect all 131 vehicles from yesterday’s pileup to their owners, while piecing together what happened.
One person was killed and 71 others were hurt in the chain-reaction crash on I-41 South in the Neenah area.
Winnebago County Capt. Lara Vendola-Messer believes the vast majority of the cars will be totaled. She thinks it could take several days. Vendola-Messer says they’ll reach out to people, when their cars can be released from the impound lots.
Vendola-Messer says the magnitude of the pileup is unprecedented in the area, and likely the state.
