When musicals like “The Lion King” are at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center for an extended run, downtown Appleton businesses benefit.
Jennifer Stephany of Appleton Downtown Incorporated says it’s not just the restaurants that people go to before the show. She says cast members also become part of the downtown neighborhood, supporting stores, coffee shops, and salons for things like massages.
Stephany says businesses have heard about how cast members love it in Appleton because of the walk-ability and safety. She thinks that’s impressive, because when they’re touring they visit cities of different sizes, all around the country.
